I Guess I Need An Adventure…

Adventure, Blue Shoe Photography, Travel

Surf Trip Time!!

It’s been a looong time since my last epic adventure…
(riding my motorcycle to Alaska) And I’ve been thinking that it’s high time
I get out and experience the world in my own crazy style once again :-)

I’ve been trying to make time to take a surf trip up the coast ever since I
bought my latest transportation device… A 1970 Volkswagen Bug.

My Favorite!

I never pictured myself in a Bug, but when I needed 4 wheels to get
around and I grew tired of paying for my rental car (I had it for 9 months, lol)
I decided to search out old Mini Coopers… And found this instead.

It’s funny really, but I’ve absolutely fallen in love… It’s a BLAST to drive
and I’ve literally met NO one who hasn’t cracked a grin riding in it, or even
watching as I drive by… So much fun! :-)

After years of throwing WAY too much money at high end vehicles this
little Bug has stolen my heart in a whole new way.

It’s in the paint shop now…
Getting “pretty” before our trip North on Thursday.

Back to the trip…

screen-capture

I leave Thursday… I’m going to Seattle… It will take a week or longer…
And yes, I’ll be blogging.

The pictures I captured last time I took these roads were incredible… The people
I met were amazing, and the time spent on the go was inspirational to say the least.

If you’re along my path, drop me a comment… I love good food.
If you’re not, feel free to follow along with me on this journey.
I can’t wait to share it with you!

And with that, I’m going to get back to my preparations… Lots to do!

Eric White Sig

P.S. I mentioned my teeny little Bug is in the paint shop… Any guesses on the color
she’ll end up?! Prize for the winner :)

Eric! What fun! I should fix my blue baja and caravan. I love Seattle. Plan to walk around downtown and visit book shops.

Are you painting your VW roja? That would be a great color so other people see you. And you could call her Rosie. Fun cars need a name. Yellow school bus would be even better so you stand out. That’s the mom talking.

Should I meet you for a photo shoot early in the morning and give you a send off?

Have ever so much fun!

Joy!

Hmm…color of the bug….well since you chose the name “blue shoe photography” and the background of this blog is blue….I would venture to say……red. :)

Eric -

I hope that all is well for you and I wanted to wish you Godspeed ahead on your surfing journey up the coast. I’m hopeful that we can work together collaboratively on something in the near future. Just a crazy wild guess… not sure if this is a color in the crayon box or not, but there is quite a possibility that you have strategized with Crayola. Your probably planning their forthcoming launch of “Blue Shoe.” Anyways… My thoughts and prayers are with you as you pursue your forthcoming adventure.

Safe Travels,

I am a HUGE bug fan! Mine was midnight blue and instead of a surf board she carried my sail board through three summers. I miss her ALL of the time… I went from her to a cabrio convertable for awhile and then monsters come along… now that they are getting a little bigger though I am thinking the next step is a bug convertable! I am going to paint mine hot pink… what color will yours be? hmmm… I’m guessing maybe a pumpkin orange or chartruesse? I look forward to finding out and I can’t wait for your trip pictures!

*cough*blue*cough*

Oh-so-jealous, by the way. Stephen wants to go on this exact kind of trip some day. Would you be interested in re-doing it some time in 2009?

Great car!! I’m voting for a coastal blue paint job. Too bad you don’t have room for your
golf clubs even though you described your adventure as a “surf trip”

You made a great choice in a car — love it. My guess for its color is baby blue.

Have a great trip and a safe one.

Good Luck on your adventure… and my guess is sleek and classic just like you - Black … Jet Black. Wish it was the east coast you were ascending… then I’d hook ya up in Myrtle Beach.

Hugs!

Eric -

haha I live in Wisconsin so a CA roadtrip won’t bring you anywhere near me! lol We’re a bit out of the way for any of those epic “cross country” adventures. Even if you’re going straight across the Midwest we’re way out of the way.

By the way, I love the bug - it’s adorable. And the first color that popped into my mind was Red. Or maybe a deep burnt yet bright orange OR sky blue! haha :) But red was my first guess for some reason - maybe cause it would just make sweet pictures… :)

In Christ,
Courtney

ps. You said reply via blog instead of email so here it is! :)
